Forensic Science...
Bono the famous doggy actor has disappeared....but was he stolen?
During a Sizzling Science Whodunit the children will investigate a “crime” scene and analyse simulated evidence using real forensic techniques to help solve a mystery. Working collaboratively in teams to analyse a range of trace evidence and unknown substances, the children will determine:
- Is the tissue stained with blood?
- Had Bono been given sleeping powder?
- Who wrote the ransom note?
- Who left the muddy shoeprint?
- And much more…
A Forensic Whodunit Workshop Encourages Children To:
- Follow Procedures and Develop Thinking Skills
- Utilise Scientific Techniques and Laboratory Equipment
- Share Roles and Communicate within a Team
- Manage Data and Present Evidence
Workshop Details:
- Age Suitability: Primary 4 –7
- All materials, equipment and worksheets are supplied
- Workshop Length: 60 – 90 minutes (can be varied to suit requirements)
- Set-up / Pack-up Time: 45 minutes each
- Class Size: Maximum 32 students
- Cost: Half-day (1 workshop) - £160
- Cost: Full-day (up to 3 workshops) - £270
Requirements:
- A suitable location to set-up the “crime” scene
- 8 desks to be set up as laboratory testing stations
- Access to water and a sink
- Teacher present at all times to facilitate children
